Abstract: Interest is the best teacher in the learning process. As middle school English teachers,they should first stimulate and develop student interest in learning, encourage students to actively participate in the study. How to develop students’ interest in learning English is the life of English teaching. According to characteristics of junior middle school students' interest and features of English subjects, this article summarizes and presents teaching strategies to inspire and cultivate middle school students’ interest in learning English.

摘要:在学习过程中,兴趣是最好的老师。作为中学的英语教师,首先应该先去激发和培养学生的学习兴趣,提高学生主动参与的积极性。如何培养学生英语学习的兴趣是英语教学的生命。本文根据初中生兴趣的特点和英语学科的特点, 总结并提出了激发和培养初中生英语学习兴趣的教学策略。

The characteristics of junior middle school students' interest are mainly in three aspects. First, the scope of interest is reduced and the central interest is formed. Second, the stability and depth of interest is stronger. Third, it keeps balance between direct and indirect interest. If a middle school student is interested in learning English, he will not take English as a heavy burden;on the contrary, he will be proactive and gain pleasure in learning. Moreover, people will learn and master knowledge quickly under the psychological state which is full of interest. Interest excites curiosity. In general, the higher the interest is, the better the study effect is. If interest becomes the psychological needs of students in learning English, they will gradually develop the habit of learning English consciously. Then the problem of learning English will be reduced. In a word, only a deep interest in English can improve learning initiative and overcome the difficulties in study.
