Abstract: Based on theories concerning Chinese and Western thinking modes, the present paper is intended to make an analysis of the differences between Chinese and Western thinking modes: circular and linear, holistic and analytic and subjective and objective thinking modes. Besides, by further explanation, the author makes thorough analyses of the main causes of the differences: different backgrounds; different ideologies and different culture conventions. What’s more, a differential analysis is adopted of the influence of Chinese and Western thinking modes on spoken English learning of English majors in order to find out the corresponding strategies for English Majors, which are 1, learning culture as background knowledge; 2, Learning oral English from psychology and anthropology; 3, Learning oral English from communication angle.

摘要：本文根据中西方思维模式的理论，分析了中西方的螺旋形和直线形、整体性和客体 性、主观性以及客观性的思维模式差异。此外， 作者进一步分析了中西思维方式差异的原因，即：不同的背景；不同的意识形态；不同的文化惯例。另外，本文运用了差别分析的方法来解释中西文化差异对英语专业学生在英语口语方面的影响，并且阐述了解决这种中西思维方式差异所带来的影响的对应方法。其中包括：1，把文化因素当做背景知识学习；2，从心理方面和人类学方面全面学习英语口语；3，从重于交流的角度去学习英语口语。
