Abstract: A news headline is the soul of news. It is also a special kind of language which tells readers the main idea of the news with highly refined words. Combined with some previous study, this paper firstly focuses on analyzing different types of rhetorical devices with some examples used in English news headlines, such as simile, personification, rhyme, pun, and so on. And then rhetorical features of English news headlines are summarized and analyzed including being vivid, being rich in rhythm, deepening overtone and enhancing charm. The purpose of this study is to help English learners know rhetorical devices and rhetorical features of English news headlines better. 摘要：新闻标题是一门独特的语言，是新闻报道的灵魂，以高度精炼的文字告诉读者新闻要点。结合前人的研究成果，本文首先通过大量的英语新闻标题实例，分析了比喻、拟人、押韵、双关等修辞手法的运用，其次总结与分析了修辞手法在英语新闻标题中的作用：形象生动、富于韵律、加深寓意、增强感染力，旨在帮助英语学者更好地了解英语新闻标题中修辞的特点及作用。 关键词: 英语新闻标题；修辞手法；修辞特点 |
