Abstract: The teaching of reading has a pivotal position in English teaching. Thereby, based on reading   theories and schema theory, this paper discusses the impact and inspiration of schema on reading comprehension and English reading teaching, and focuses on the application of schema theory into EFL reading teaching, mainly including three stages---pre-reading, while-reading and post-reading. When teaching English reading, teachers of junior high schools should properly adopt schema theory, enhancing students’ linguistic schema, content schema and formal schema and activating and constructing relevant schema to improve their reading proficiency.  Based on the findings from previous studies, the writer of this thesis points out that it is necessary to activate students' schema or provide the relevant knowledge to students. It has been proved that schema theory has a positive effect on the improvement of students' reading comprehension in the practice of English reading teaching.

摘要:阅读教学在中学英语教学中具有举足轻重的地位。为此,本文以阅读理论和图式理论为基础,探讨图式理论对阅读理解的影响以及对英语阅读教学的启示,着重介绍如何将图式理论有效地运用到初中英语阅读教学中主要包括三个课堂教学环节。中学英语教师应在英语阅读教学中适当采用图式理论, 增强学生的语言图式、内容图式和形式图式并有效激活和建立相关图式以提高英语阅读水平。笔者总结前人研究的成果,指出相关的图式传授是帮助学生理解的必要条件,证明图式理论有利于促进英语阅读教学。
