Abstract: Gulliver’s Travels is the masterpiece of Jonathan Swift, one of the greatest satirical writers in Britain in the 18th century. This is an analytical study of the satirical art used in the fiction. It not only tells us the theme and artistic style of the novel from satirical aspect, but also analyzes the artistic devices used in Lilliput, Brobdingnag, Laputa and Houyuhums. The paper reveals Swift’s satirical view of the corrupt European government at that time, it also talks about the use of “a storm in a teacup”, sardonicism, irony, derision and other satirical styles used in description and portraiture.

摘要：《格列佛游记》是乔纳森·斯威夫特的一篇杰作，他是英国十八世纪最伟大的讽刺作家之一。本文通过对《格列佛游记》中小人国、大人国、飞岛国以及慧骃国四部分的讽刺的艺术手法的研究，从讽刺的角度揭露小说的主题和艺术风格。文章展示了斯威夫特对腐败的英国君主制度的尖锐讽刺，并讨论了“小题大做”，嘲笑，反讽，等多种讽刺技巧在细节描述以及人物刻画方面的运用。
