Abstract: This thesis aims to analyze the factors that differences exist among China’s mainland, Hong Kong and Taiwan in English film title translation. It analyzes in the light of the phenomenon that these three areas choose different translating strategies and methods to translate film titles. This thesis summarizes five factors, namely social and cultural background, codes of language, ideology and values perspective, acceptance of foreign culture and translator’s subjectivity. It lays special stress on arguing how the dominate factor— translator’s subjectivity influences translators’ choice. Though this thesis, translators could discover their deficiencies in translation. They should reduce and avoid the subjective and objectives factors to influence their translations and standardize English films title translation in order to promote the flourish and health development of China’s film markets. 摘要:本文旨在分析造成两岸三地英文影片汉译名存在差异的原因,根据两岸三地采用不同的翻译策略和翻译方法去翻译片名这一现象,分析差异存在的原因,即社会文化背景、语言习惯、意识形态、对外来文化的接受程度以及译者的主体性五大因素的影响,重点讨论主导因素—译者的主体性是如何影响译者的翻译。希望本文能使两岸三地译者发现自己翻译时的不足之处,译者应减少主观因素对翻译造成的影响,同时避免其他客观因素的干扰。其次应规范两岸三地的英文影片翻译,从而使中国电影市场蓬勃、健康发展。 关键词: 三地;电影片名翻译;策略;方法;译者主体性 |
