Abstract:As a major research topic in the field of cross-cultural studies, the study of Afro-American Modern Pop Music and Its influences has excited great interests in the present context of unavoidable globalization. This essay centers on the development of Afro-American modern pop music and its effect on popular culture. The author is planning to go into details of the development of Afro-American modern pop music. Take Michael Jackson-the King of Pop as one of the very example to illustrate the impact of Afro-American modern pop music on American popular culture and how it lays influences on American entertainment, aesthetic standard and mental health problem. The results implicate that the public should pay serious attention to the negative impact of Afro-American modern pop music. Relevant departments should strengthen the supervision toward unhealthy pop music and educate the mass with better music aesthetic taste.

中文摘要:作为跨文化研究领域的主要课题之一，有关美国黑人现代流行音乐及其影响的研究在当前不可避免的全球一体化发展趋势下受到广泛的关注。这篇论文集中讨论美国黑人现代流行音乐及其对大众文化的影响。这篇论文的作者打算详细论述美国黑人现代流行音乐的发展史，并以流行音乐之王——迈克尔·杰克逊作为其中一个标志性的例子，阐明美国黑人现代流行音乐对美国大众文化的影响，探讨这种文化是如何影响美国人民的娱乐、审美观以及心理健康问题。得出的结论是社会大众应对美国黑人流行音乐中存在的不良现象给与重视。相关部门必须加强监管的同时，也要培养群众对流行音乐的良好审美观。
