Abstract:With the development of society and economy, more and more talents capable of mastering English are badly needed in the world. Under the influence of traditional English teaching mode, most English learners can only read and write but not completely into practice. With modern science and technology are advancing in multimedia in English language teaching which provides a more advanced medium. The development of technology improves the modern teaching technology, and the multimedia even promotes the educational reforms rapidly. The growing of multimedia technology is to a large extent to chang the traditional teaching environment, teaching methods, teaching contents and teaching ideas, which also provides an ideal teaching environment. The learning has been brought into profound changes. At the same time, the multimedia teaching mode can cultivate the independent learning ability in English, help students to improve their English listening and reading ability.

中文摘要:随着社会和经济的发展，世界对于英语人才的需求越来越大，而且所要求的水平也越来越高。 而在传统的外语教学模式下所培养出来的人大都只会读与写， 不能够很好地应用英语。随着现代科学技术的不断进步，多媒体辅助英语教学为英语教学提供了更为先进的媒介。科技的发展推动了现代教学技术的发展，多媒体的出现更促进了教学的改革。多媒体技术的发展在很大程度上改变了传统的教学环境、教学手段、教学内容和教学观念，为教育教学提供了理想的教学环境，给学习方式带来了深刻的变革。多媒体辅助教学模式能促进学生自主学习英语能力的培养，有助于学生英语听力和阅读能力的培养和提高。
