Abstract: Alice Walker is a famous contemporary Afro-American woman writer and the soul of female Afro-American writing, as well as writing renaissance. Her works always focus on the problems of American black woman. In 1983, because of her most successful and popular, The Color Purple, Walker won the Pulitzer Prize. The Color Purple reveals the cause of black women’s oppression-patriarchy, and it also points out to the black women that only sisterhood can unite them together, help them to realize their consciousness about their own worth, and thus get liberation. In order to differentiate from other feminism, Walker creates her own term “womanism”. Through the analysis of the three female characters in the novel, this thesis aims to interpret the womanism in The Color purple. Key words: womanism; Alice Walker; female characters
摘要: 艾丽丝·沃克是当代美国著名的黑人女作家,被誉为“黑人妇女写作文艺复兴运动的灵魂人物”。 黑人妇女问题一直是沃克创作的重点题材。1983年沃克凭借小说《紫色》获得了普利策小说奖。《紫色》揭示了黑人妇女受压迫的根源-父权制,同时指出了在现实面前广大黑人妇女只有通过姐妹情谊团结起来,实现自我意识的觉醒,才能获得真正的解放。沃克由此创立了妇女主义一词,以区别于其他的女权主义理论。本文通过对《紫色》中三位女性人物的分析,进而解读沃克妇女主义的新理念。 关键词: 妇女主义; 艾丽丝·沃克; 女性角色 |
