Abstract: Taboo refers to “an inhibition or ban resulting from social custom or emotional aversion”.These taboos include religious taboos,color taboos, number taboos,title taboos etc.Taboo words,especially the number taboos, play a vital role in our daily communication.Based on many experts,this thesis analyzes taboo words in different cultures and focuses on the taboo words on numbers between Chinese and English.The purpose is to bring convenience to our daily communication.
