Abstract: This paper firstly introduces some culture-related concepts, and analyzes the characteristics of color words under the background of Chinese and English culture. Specific translation methods are applied in the process of translation in diversified angles from the perspectives of cultural connotation among Chinese and English and social attributes. A contrast is made about color words used in Chinese and English with the conclusion that it’s very helpful to exactly comprehend the cultural information conveyed by color words. Meanwhile it’s very important to exactly manage the color words to express emotions and carry through language communication in our daily life.

摘要：本文介绍了与文化有关的概念，从颜色词在中英文中的文化内涵、社会属性方面的角度分析了颜色词在中英文化背景中的特点以及从不同角度提出了翻译过程中采用的具体翻译方法，并且对比了颜色词在中英文使用中的不同，得出结论认为准确的认识颜色词可以有助于我们理解这些色彩词所传达的文化信息，对于正确地理解和运用这些色彩词表情达义、进行语言交流和日常交际具有十分重要的意义。
