Abstract:English as a language, it is not only a teaching tool for teachers, but also the source of target language for students. In addition, middle school is a crucial period for the students to study English. And teacher talk has a tremendous impact on students. However, scholars who are at home and abroad only have little research for teacher talk in English classroom. Therefore, it should be necessary to research teacher talk in English classroom. The author did a survey for teacher talk in Number Four Middle School of Jianshui by using two methods of questionnaire and classroom record . And four problems of teacher talk were found out as following: (1) The amount of teacher talk was too much. (2) The quality of teacher talk was low. (3) Ways of putting forward questions were repeat and single; (4) Ways of evaluations were not proper. Based on these problems above, the author discussed the research results with intermediary theory and put forward some suggestions to improve the situations: Teachers should properly control the amount of teacher talk; Improve their English level and language ability; Take flexible and diverse ways to put forward questions and use active words to evaluate students. The paper aims at optimizing teacher talk in English classroom of middle school, strengthening students’ study enthusiasm and improving classroom teaching effect.

摘  要:英语作为一门语言,既是教师教学的工具,也是学生目的语的来源。加之初中是学生学习英语的关键时期,英语教师用语对学生影响巨大,但是国内外研究学者对英语教师用语的研究甚少。所以对英语教师用语的研究显得很有必要。作者采用问卷调查及课堂录音两种方法对建水四中进行了教师用语的调查研究,发现教师用语主要存在4个问题:(1)教师用语数量过多;(2)教师的语言输出质量不高;(3)教师的提问方式重复单一;(4)教师对学生的评价方式欠妥。基于存在的这些问题,作者采用中介理论对研究结果进行分析并提出以下改进的建议:在英语课堂上,教师应适当控制语言输出的数量,提高教师的英语口语水平和语言能力,采用灵活多样的提问方式和积极的语言评价学生. 本研究致力于优化中学英语课堂教师用语,充分调动学生学习的积极性和主动性,提高课堂教学效果。
