Abstract: Nowadays, news has become one of the most important industries in the world. It conveys information that everyone requires in the information age. So it has a good and promising future. We cannot live without it for a better life. With the development of globalization and economic boom, economic news has become an indispensable part of the news industry. Since English economic news differs greatly from Chinese economic news in structure and style, which has a significant effect on the methods of translation, the stylistic features and translation strategies of economic news will be an interesting topic. This thesis will analyze the stylistic features in four parts --- the lexical features, the grammatical features, the rhetoric and other stylistic features of economic news, and the four major translation strategies, which can also be regarded as the methods used in the translation of economic news --- abridgment, restructuring, adding background knowledge and adaptation. Stylistic features are the basis of translation. To hold a clear view of stylistic features of economic news, the four features that have been mentioned above can summarize the characters of English economic news and are also the major differences between English and Chinese economic news. What’s more, stylistic features helps in choosing the most proper translation strategies in economic news. Besides, the translation strategies are also based on the three famous translation theories --- Equivalence theory, Skopos theory and Functional theory. Those three theories provide the theoretic evidence and establish the framework of translation. Combined with the theories, the four translation strategies, which are also the methods, will be analyzed in a detailed way. Hopefully, this thesis will do a favor to the translators and those interested in English economic news.
