Abstract:Katherine Anne Porter is a great American writer. “The Jilting of Granny Weatherall” is her representative short story, which has aroused thousands of both researchers and readers’ interest and there are many research papers about it. In order to help readers further learn this work, the thesis introduces the author’s background, her writing career, the plot of the story, and focuses on analyzing Granny Weatherall’s character according to her life experiences.
