Abstract:There are some controversial views about the transfer effect from Chinese phonetic alphabet to English phonetics. Most abroad studies focus on the second language acquisition and urban students. Nevertheless, owing to the particularity of their learning conditions and characteristics, rural area students will be chosen as a case study in this thesis. The writer adopts answering questionnaires for 60 students and interviews for 10 English teachers in Menglun junior middle school to figure out the current situation of English phonetics learning among junior middle school students in rural area. This thesis will use the related knowledge of Language Transfer Theory to analyze the result of the survey. Based on the analyzed results, the hypothesis that Chinese phonetic alphabet can provoke transfer effect on English phonetics learning will be verified. Meanwhile, how to use the positive transfer effect of Chinese phonetic alphabet to improve the learning of English phonetics is discussed in English teaching. It also discussed how to avoid the effect of its negative transfer. The data obtained from the study provides some good insights for teachers who teach rural areas students English, and it is also good for the rural area students to master English phonetics correctly. 中文摘要:汉语拼音对英语语音学习的迁移作用,在学术界一直存在争议。但大部分国外研究的目标焦点都集中在二语习得和城市学生。由于农村学生学习条件和学习特点的特殊性,本文决定以此为研究对象,采用抽样调查和访谈的方法,对勐仑中学60个初三学生和10位初中英语教师进行了调查研究,旨在了解农村中学生英语语音学习的现状。并利用语言迁移理论的相关知识对调查结果进行分析,以此来论证汉语拼音对英语语音学习有迁移作用的假设。同时探讨在英语教学中如何利用汉语拼音的正迁移作用促进英语语音的学习,也探讨了如何避免其负迁移所带来的影响。本研究的结果将给从事少数民族地区英语教学的老师们提供英语音标教学有利的依据,并对农村初中学生正确掌握英语发音起到积极的作用。 关键词:汉语拼音;英语音标;语言迁移理论;正迁移 |
