Abstract:With the development of globalization, the cultural exchanges between China and other countries are increasing with each passing day. However, China has great difficulty in the dissemination of its literature. For quite a long time, the “import” of foreign literary works far outweighs the “export” of Chinese works, whether in quantity or in quality, so the exchanges in literature between China and the outside world are in the state of imbalance. Therefore, it is imperative to promote Chinese literature abroad so as to realize the cultural exchange in the real sense. As a crucial tool to make literary works accessible to foreign readers, translation plays a vital role in the dissemination of literature. The translator model and translating strategies exert a decisive effect in the quality of translated works, so it is of great necessity to conduct some research on them. In 2012, Mo Yan won the Nobel Prize of Literature. Apart from the charm of his works, the contribution of Howard Goldblatt, the major translator of Mo Yan’s works should be fully acknowledged. This thesis will analyze the current situation of the translation and dissemination of Chinese literature and find out the existing problems in it. On the basis of analyzing the translator models and the translating strategies of Mo Yan’s works, suggestions will be given in terms of the selection of translator model and translating strategies suitable to Chinese literature.

摘要:随着全球化的发展，中国与其他国家之间的文化交流也日益频繁。但在文学的对外传播方面，中国面临着很大的困境。长期以来，无论是在数量还是在质量上，外国文学的输入远远超出中国文学的输出，形成了文学交流极不平衡的现象。如何推动中国文学走出去，真正实现文化的双向交流成为我们迫切需要解决的问题。翻译作为文学走出去的重要渠道，对于文学的对外传播发挥着举足轻重的作用。译者模式和翻译策略的选择是影响翻译质量的重要因素，因此为了更好地推动中国文学走出去，有必要对这两大议题进行研究。2012年中国作家莫言获得诺贝尔文学奖，除了其作品本身的巨大魅力之外，其作品英文版译者葛浩文先生及其有效的翻译策略对莫言作品的对外传播起到了功不可没的作用。本文将对中国文学作品的翻译和传播情况进行分析，找出其中存在的问题。在分析文学翻译译者模式和翻译策略的基础上，同时结合莫言作品对外传播的成功经验，总结出当前适合中国文学对外传播的译者模式和翻译策略。
