Abstract:This paper attempts to make an intensive study on Jane Eyre's character in Charlotte Bronte's Jane Eyre, with a view to figuring out what makes Jane Eyre one of the most impressive and popular heroines in the literary history and to reveal Charlotte's great concern over women's social position in England in the 19th century. Based on the analysis of Jane's character, the paper concludes that Jane is in that she is full of rebellious spirit, with great desire for self-esteem and independence. Besides, it points out that Jane’s personality is the product of both the society and Charlotte’s personal experience. Key words: rebellious spirit; independence.
摘要:本文试图深入探究夏洛蒂·勃朗特的杰作《简·爱》中简·爱的性格，旨在揭示成就简·爱这一文学史上最受欢迎的女主人公的因素，以及夏洛蒂对19世纪英国社会的女性的社会地位的关注。通过分析简·爱的性格，可以得出结论：简·爱是一个颠覆性的人物，充满了反抗精神，对自尊和独立的渴望。同时，本文进一步指出简·爱的性格是社会环境和夏洛蒂个人生活经历共同作用的产物。 关键词：叛逆精神,独立自主,自尊自爱 |
