Abstract: This thesis aims to study untranslatability by analyzing the influence of the differences of Chinese and English cultures on translation. The thesis starts with the classification of untranslatability, followed by the causes and manifestations of it, and finally tries to work out some ways of solving untranslatability. In the end of the article, the author restates that translatability and untranslatability are relative; some measures can be taken to make some untranslatable words translatable. Only when we try our best to search for the methods to lessen the limitation of translatability can we achieve the goals we want.

摘要：本文主要研究了受中英文化差异影响下产生的翻译中的不可译现象。从阐述不可译现象的不同种类出发，结合不可译现象的原因及表现形式，最后旨在找到解决不可译现象的一些方法。文章结尾处提出了可译性与不可译现象之间的相对性,我们可以通过采取一些措施使得不可译的内容变得可译。只有我们尽力寻找降低翻译中的不可译现象限度的方法，才能最终达到解决不可译现象的目的。
