Abstract: Language testing, in which the listening testing serves as an important part, occupies a predominant role in language learning. However, middle school English listening testing has been neglected in China for a long time, resulting in the prevalent one being unsatisfactory. This paper mainly analyzes the current situation of middle school English listening testing on the basis of previous studies about listening comprehension as well as language testing, and further advocates effective ways of how to design listening tests, which aims to make full use of the testing in practical teaching activities.

摘要：语言测试在语言学习中占据着重要位置,而听力测试是语言测试的重要组成部分。然而，长期以来我国中学英语教学中一直忽视英语听力测试，导致了现行测试令人不满意。本文在前人关于听力理解和语言测试的研究基础上，分析了中学英语听力测试的现状，提出了该如何设计有效的听力测试，以使其能在中学英语教学中发挥最大功效。
