ABSTRACT:English translation of instruction of scenic spots is a very important part in tourism translation, it plays an vital role in China’s international communication and tourism promotion as an effect publicity tool, especially, the cultural factors has a great influence in tourism publicity. This thesis is to analyze transmission of tourism cultural information in English to Chinese translation in the light of Vermeer’s skopos theory, taking examples from the English translation related with the scenic spot of Alu ancient caves. Literal, liberal and some other common translation methods are put forward to guide the translation practice. It is expected that this translation study will contribute to the effective cultural promotion of Alu ancient caves, accelerating development of the tourism economy of Luxi county and its surrounding regions.
