读《老人与海》有感

On The Old Man and the Sea

摘 要

　　　《老人与海》是美国著名作家海明威的代表作。小说语言简洁，情节激动人心，洋溢着英雄主义精神，深深地吸引着世界各国的读者。1954年，《老人与海》使海明威获得了诺贝尔文学奖，这部小说从此成为家喻户晓的文学名著。看完了故事，我们应学习主人翁的不屈不挠的精神。

　　　自《老人与海》出版以来，尽管很多的专家都对本书作出了不同的评价，但却很少有分析涉及到书中宗教因素的影响，而受到影响的大众也往往忽略了这重要的一点。本论文只要谈及宗教以及宗教在《老人与海》这本书中的影响和体现。

　　　通读文章后，我们不难发现尽管海明威说到自己并不虔诚，但本质上他仍然是个基督教徒。同时，本论文中也体现了重要的一点就是作为一名基督教徒，不仅使得宗教成为海明威文学创造中的一个不可或缺的因素，而且可以毫不夸张地说，他的作品是一部用现代英语写成的当代传道书。

Abstract

　　　The Old Man and the Sea is the masterpiece of Ernest Hemingway, who is one of the famous American writers. The whole story was written in a concise way, and all its readers are attracted and moved by the Heroism it shows. In 1954, owing to The Old Man and the Sea, Ernest Hemingway won the Nobel Prize in Literature. From then on, the novel was known throughout the world. It’s proofed to inspired one generation to another to conquered difficulties by facts, and become much stronger. After have read about this fiction, we should learn that indomitable spirit in the old man.

　　　Through ages, though many experts have made comments on The Old Man and the Sea, they seldom talked about the religious element on the fiction. Let alone the public even they were really affected by Hemingway’s works. This paper is mainly about the religion and the impact that the religion have had on the The Old Man and the Sea.

　　　Over all, we can say after have read this passage that Hemingway, in essence, was still a Christian even though he was not so sincere to the God. Simultaneously, this dissertation also shows that religion factor was not only an indispensable part in Hemingway’s literature, but also proved that his works is rather a contemporary gospels.
