Abstract:In recent years, researchers at home and abroad have attached great importance to the studies of oral English teaching. An attempt has been made to reveal the awkward situation of the current oral English teaching and how it has been advancing towards a more effective and appropriate one marked by student-centered approach. The author, in light of the constructivism theory, tries to analyze the current oral English teaching. Then it is easy to come to two conclusions: (1) The existing oral English teaching mode is still problematic. (2) There are huge gaps between what students want and what teachers give, such as students’ demand of practical knowledge and diverse class presentations. Based on such findings, pedagogical implications have been made in hope of inspiring the future teaching of oral English. Key Words: constructivism; oral English teaching approach; student-centered
摘要:近年来,英语口语教学受到了国内外学者的重视,而这在国内外也引发了一系列关于口语教学方法方面的研究。笔者试图揭示现行口语教学的弊端,并阐述如何进展为一个更有效、更合适的教学方法——以学生为本。对此,在建构主义理论的指导下,通过分析现行英语口语教学,得出了一下两个结论:(1)现行的口语教学方法仍存在一些问题。(2)学生的需求和老师的授予有出入,例如学生对实用知识和多样化课堂教学方式的需要。基于这些结论笔者提出了相应的教学建议,希望能为未来的英语口语教学带来新的启示。 关键词:建构主义;英语口语教学方法;以学生为本
