Abstract：The Kite Runner is the American Afghanistan writer, Khaled Hosseini’s first novel and was published in 2003. The Kite Runner is a story about the childhood of an Afghan migrant and his redemption after he grew up. The story started from the beginning of the 1950s to the 21st century, so the story can be also studied about the history and changes of Afghanistan in recent decades. 

　　　The thesis focuses on analyzing and studying Hassan’s self-sacrifice spirit, and exploring the writer’s purpose of writing, which is to reflect the social phenomenon through the symbolism of the kite for Hassan and through comparison to reflect Hassan’s influence on shaping Amir’s personality and making Amir begin his redemption. All of this reflect the writer’s humanitarian opinion. The writer also appeals to the social responsibility, and advocates more attention to social vulnerable groups, shows the expression of care, love and respect for people, and people-oriented humanistic spirit.    Key Words: The Kite Runner; Hassan; self-sacrifice; humanistic spirit

中文摘要：《追风筝的人》是美籍阿富汗作家卡勒德•胡赛尼于2003年出版的一部作品。故事讲述了一个移民美国的阿富汗人童年的往事与长大后对自己儿时犯下的过错心灵救赎的过程。故事从上世纪50年代开始跨度到21世纪，因此从故事里面也可以了解到阿富汗这国家近几十年的历史与变化。    本文重点研究和剖析《追风筝的人》中哈桑的自我牺牲精神，通过文中风筝对于哈桑的象征意义，以及通过对比手法，阐述哈桑对埃米尔人格的塑造并最终走上救赎之路的影响，透析哈桑在作者的写作意图中所反映的社会现象，体现作者的人道主义主张，以及对社会责任的呼吁，提倡更多的人关注社会弱势群体，表达作者的关怀人、爱护人、尊重人，做到以人为本、以人为中心的人道主义精神。    关键词：《追风筝的人》；哈桑；自我牺牲；人道主义精神

　　　The story described by the author across the decades when major changes took place in Afghanistan: the monarchy corrupted, the Taliban was the regime, the country’s internal contradictions, all reflecting the complex growth environment of Hassan. Throughout the novel, the deep affection between Amir and Hassan was seen everywhere in the story. No matter what happened in their childhood or after their disassociation, it couldn’t be denied the fact that it was Hassan that was  accompanied by Amir, and vice versa, had a considerable influence on both Amir’s and Hassan’s thoughts in face of varies kinds of situations and their lives.
