Abstract:This paper aims at the interpretation of Sandra Cisneros’ The House on Mango Street from a feminist perspective. It is known that Feminist Movement started early in history and has lasted about two hundred years. Thus the influence of Feminism has swept all over the aspects of people’s life, including literature. Sandra Cisneros, as a contemporary Mexican-American woman writer, is influenced. Her best-seller The House on Mango Street is a typical example. Though it is a kind of children’s literature, it reflects women’s hope to be independent from men. The feminist interpretation of The House on Mango Street starts from the analysis of women’s images in Mango Street such as Esperanza’s mother, Rosa Vargas, Ruthie and Rafaela to show the oppression on women, and it ends in the analysis of the heroine Esperanza’s different independent innermost stages to declare women’s independence. By the analysis and contrast of different images, readers can hear the author Sandra Cisneros’ call to all the women that they should be real women who have their own opinions, dreams, positions and independence in society.

摘要:本篇论文旨在从女性主义解读美籍墨裔女作家桑德拉·西斯内罗斯的作品《芒果街的小屋》。众所周知，女性主义运动持续了几百年，对人们生活的方方面面产生了深远影响，文学自然也在其中。当代美籍墨裔女性作家桑德拉·西斯内罗斯也受其影响，她的小说《芒果街的小屋》就是个好例。虽然这只是本儿童读物，却反映出深刻的女性主义思想。本论文对桑德拉·西斯内罗斯《芒果街的小屋》中所描绘的被束缚的女性形象爱丝佩朗莎的妈妈，罗萨，鹭鸶和拉法儿进行分析，反映出女性所受的压迫；同时本文还对书中小主人公爱丝佩朗莎不同阶段自强独立的形象与内心感悟作分析，反映出女性心底向社会提出的独立要求。这两种束缚的与解放的形象的分析和对比，反映出了桑德拉·西斯内罗斯对女性自立自强，精神独立，物质独立的女性主义呼唤。
