Pteris L. is a genus with about 250 species widely distributed in the warm-temperate and tropical areas of the world ( Kubitzki,1990) . Christensen and Tardieu-Blot (1940) reported 29 Pteris species from Vietnam,Laos and Cambodia. However, Ho (1990) reported 26 species and one variety of Pteris in Vietnam and other three species were considered as synonyms.
