Abstract: Little Women is Louisa May Alcott, an America feminist woman writer’s most celebrated and praised novel. It describes the growing-up experiences of the four March sisters during American Civil War. Jo, the second daughter as the main character, is somewhat the reflection of Alcott. This thesis aims to analyze the changes of Jo’s personality, the leading character in Little Women, in the approach of feminism. The study combines the life of the author, the historic and theoretical background and the analysis of the character. From the angle of love, family and society, the changes of Jo’s personality is to be probed, as well as the reasons which cause the changes. Through an in-depth study on the personality of the leading character, this paper intends to study the classical figure of Jo, the impact of Feminism to the American society in the civil war and the profound significance of this work. 摘要:《小妇人》是美国19世纪后半期的女性主义作家路易莎·梅·奥尔特的事业巅峰之作,该书描述了美国内战时期马奇一家四姐妹的成长历程,其中二女儿乔是文章的主人公,同时,从某种角度上来看,也是作者奥尔特的影射。本文围绕女性主义的影响看乔成长中的性格变化。本论文意在将文本与时代理论背景相结合,探讨作者路易莎·梅·奥尔特本人在《小妇人》一书中的投射,并分析女性主义背景在书中的投影。主要以乔这一人物为切入点,讨论女性主义影响下乔的性格变化。从爱情,家庭,社会的角度描述乔的性格变化,并延伸至引起这些变化的原因。这篇论文通过对主人公个性特征发展的深层次解析,以求能较深入地挖掘乔这一人物形象,理解19世纪后半期的美国现实社会,特别是女性主义的影响,并理解作品的深刻意义。 关键词:《小妇人》;女性主义;性格变化
