Abstract:Metaphor is not only a form of human language, but also a matter of thought and the cognitive tool. Sports event is an indivisible part of the social and cultural life, where metaphor is widely used as a cognitive model. There have been a vast number of researches on metaphor in sports news which were conducted in random sample, but rare attention has been paid to the sports news covered by one reporter. This thesis is discussed on the basis of the conceptual metaphor from Lakoff and Johnson, and makes a cognitive analysis of the golf news reported by British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) correspondence Iain Carter.

摘要:隐喻不仅是人类语言的一种形式，也是人类普遍的思维方式和基本的认知工具。体育运动已成为人们日常生活中不可分割的一部分，隐喻在体育领域里被广泛应用，是人们对体育现象的一种认知模式。过去很多人对英语媒体中体育新闻语言隐喻的探究，所选取的材料都是通过随机抽取获得的，但关于某一作者在某一体育项目所做的体育报道的隐喻研究为数不多。本文以来考夫和约翰逊的概念隐喻为基础，从认知的角度对英国广播公司（BBC）高尔夫专栏记者伊莱·卡特所作的高尔夫报道进行分析。

　　　本文从5篇BBC高尔夫专栏记者伊恩·卡特所作的体育报道中，抽取部分的隐喻表达式，进行定性和定量分析，并从认知的角度作出详细的解释。从方位隐喻、实体隐喻和结构隐喻这三大类来分析体育隐喻词汇是如何产生的，解释体育隐喻在新闻词汇中的使用，从而更深刻地认识和理解体育隐喻词汇的深层意义，为了解隐藏在其后的记者对体育比赛的看法，价值取向和对隐喻的使用所反映的文化现象研究提供依据。
