Abstract: With the development of tourist industry of China, more and more materials concerning tourist industry need to be translated into English, but the quality of such kind of translation is not satisfactory. Till now, we lack specific and systematic studies on this kind of translation in spite of the fact that the quality of the tourist translation is closely linked with the image of our country in the world. The present paper aims at finding out the main reasons of the poor quality of such kind of translation. The author thinks that the main reason lies in the cultural factors. The paper begins with theoretical basis of translating tourist materials and responsibility of translators.Then it analyses the cultural differences between west and east. At last, it put forwards some suggested approaches for translating. Key words: translation; tourist materials; culture; cultural context
摘要:随着中国旅游业的发展,越来越多的旅游资料需要被翻译成英文,但是这种翻译的质量不是那么令人满意。是什么原因造成了这种质量不高的旅游资料的翻译的呢?知道现在,我们还是缺少对这种翻译的额详细系统的研究,尽管旅游资料的翻译质量与我们国家在世界上的形象紧密相连。这篇文章目的在于找出造成这种翻译质量不高的主要原因。作者认为,主要是由文化不同造成的。文章开始提供了翻译旅游资料的理论依据,和翻译者的责任。然后分析了中西方文化的不同。最后提出了几点可以借鉴的翻译方法。 关键词:翻译,旅游资料,文化,文化背景 |
