Abstract:The key point of the reform of the current basic education and one of the fundamental task of educational reform are the full implementation of quality education which focus on fostering students’ innovative spirit and practical ability, so teachers should decide to develop students’ creative thinking ability when they are studying English. It means that teachers should guide students to change the traditional passive learning method so that students are willing to think about the problems and cope with them when they are learning English and they can participate in a learning process creatively.

　　　This paper reflects the problems which are often met by students when they study English and creative thinking has positive impact on learning English, so we make a conclusion that teachers should foster students’ creative thinking. At last, I will explore the way that high school teachers how to cultivate students’ creative thinking in English teaching.

中文摘要:以培养学生的创新精神和实践能力为重点全面实施素质教育，是当前基础教育改革的重点，也是跨世纪教育变革的根本任务之一。所以老师应该培养学生的创造性思维的能力。这意味着老师应该在学生的学习中引导他们改变传统被动的学习方法，让学生愿意去思考英语学习中面临的问题并克服它们，同时使得他们能够创造性地参与到学习过程中。

　　本论文反映了学生在学习英语中经常会遇到的问题和创造性思维对学习英语的积极作用，所以我们得出了一个结论：老师的确应该培养学生的创造性思维。最后，我探讨高中老师应该在英语教学中怎样培养学生的创造性思维。
