Abstract:The paper will focus on Jane Eyre’s  Consciousness of Independence. The main line of her character is independence. In reading the novel, I find out that Jane Eyre has the personality of independence reflected in her self-esteem and self-love, and exceptional intelligence as well. She dares to seek for a free and equal life. As a woman, Jane Eyre protects her dignity in her family, in society, and the way in dealing with love. She doesn’t have beautiful appearance, but has great virtue, a noble soul and a beautiful heart which can be called as an everlasting beauty. I think it is necessary for us to learn her merits. In the paper I will discuss what makes Jane Eyre become an independent woman.

摘要:论文将集中研究简爱的独立意识, 她独立的性格将是主线。通过小说，我了解了简爱个性中自尊，自爱的独立性，还有她超乎寻常的智慧。她敢于去追求自由和平等的生活。作为一个女人，简爱维护了她在家庭，社会以及爱情上的尊严。尽管她没有漂亮的外表，但是她有着高尚的美德，高贵的灵魂和美丽的心灵，这才是永恒不变的美丽。我认为我们非常有必要去学习她的良好的品质。论文将围绕着是什么使简爱成为了一个独立的女人这个问题进行讨论。
