Abstract:This paper focuses on the communicative teaching approach and the application of communicative approach in grammar teaching, then points out that communication is the central part of language teaching. Teaching is a kind of communication. The author gives the definition of communicative language teaching, and introduces methods to use communicative approach in junior English grammar teaching. Transformation of the teachers’ role is also introduced. Chinese English teachers should be equipped with better professional skills and language proficiency. They are key problems to be solved in communicative grammar teaching. Key words: Communicative Approach; Grammar Teaching; professional skills; language proficiency.
