Abstract:Language is the vehicle of culture, and idioms are the cream of language. The color words of idioms are endowed with different connotations. So, it seems to be of great significance to make a contrastive study of the color of English and Chinese cultures in the common word "red" of connotations, in order to inquire and announce the cultural mentality in different nations and the differences and changes in inter-cultural communication of red idioms.
