Abstract:All the children are interested in stories. Storytelling teaching method can be applied to the children aged seven to fourteen. Storytelling teaching method not only enable pupils to achieve the demands of the New English Syllabus, but also motives pupils’ interest, and solves the problems of English learning and opens up the knowledge of pupils. This paper analyzes the advantages of storytelling teaching method and it also gives some suggestions about it. Key words： story； pupil； the New English Syllabus
