Abstract: This thesis firstly introduces the definition of arts and focuses on the study of the public speeches made by U.S. presidents, analyzing the speech arts from different terms, such as oral language arts and body language arts. It also points out the styles and features of the American presidential speeches from angles of figure of speech. And then specifically talks about the speech arts by giving examples of speeches by both former president Bush and president Obama. Finally, from the analysis we are able to get some hints such as the underlying purposes and the impacts of the speeches.

摘要：本文首先介绍了艺术的定义，聚焦于研读美国总统们发表的公众演讲，从不同的角度分析演讲的艺术，诸如口头演讲艺术和肢体演讲艺术。本文也从修辞的角度指出美国总统演讲的风格和特征，然后以前总统布什和现任总统奥巴马的讲话为例子详细地谈论演讲艺术。最后，我们能够从分析中更加了解演讲的潜在目的和影响
