Abstract: This thesis puts forward the application of game-playing method to English classroom teaching in middle schools on the basis of studying teaching theories and teaching practice. It introduces the main functions of game-playing method. It is helpful to create certain contexts of communication for students, enhance their mood and their intercommunication, and foster their awareness of cooperation and competition. It also analyzes the strategies to put it into practice. The purpose of this thesis is to help middle school teachers find a proper teaching method and improve classroom teaching efficiency so as to enhance students’ English level.

摘要：本论文在研究教学理论和教学实践的基础上，提出在初中英语课堂中运用游戏教学法；介绍了游戏教学法的主要功能，它有助于提供一定的学习语境，培养学生情感，促进学生交际，培养学生竞争与合作意识；并分析了其实施的策略。此项研究的目的在于帮助中学教师找到合理的教学方法，提高课堂教学效率，从而提高学生的英语学习水平。
