Abstract:Nowadays, English majors’ oral English competence in China has been put into a higher level because of the speeding-up globalization and increasing contacts between China and the outside world. Investigations show that the inability of oral English is commonly found among college students, and “Chinglish” and “dumb English” have become the common problems of college students, including English majors in our college. The paper explores the oral English competence of English majors in our college through questionnaire. Furthermore, this paper aims

to develop oral English competence of English majors in our college and stimulate English majors to better adapt to social development.
