As a frequently used compound dating back to Chinese classical literature, the term ＂zi ben＂has long since become the translation of ＂capital.＂ However,at that time the term existed just as a common word denoting money while its modern meaning has not been fully explored.Since 1980s, ＂capital＂ has been translated into ＂zi ben＂ in Japanese literature. Moreover, owing to related works introducing socialism, ＂zi ben＂ first rose to the rank of specialized terminology and political terminology in Japanese. Afterwards, with the translation and the transmission of related works on ＂zi ben＂ spread to China.
