| 摘 要：本文对英语中的法语外来词的来源进行探源,略论英语吸收法语词汇的三个高潮时期.按照法语外来词英语化程度,法语外来词可以分为三类：完全英语化、半英语化和未英语化.法语外来词不仅丰富和补充了英语语言,同时对英国的社会文化带来一定作用.本课题探讨成果有利于加强对英语和法语的理解,更深刻地认识语言形成和发展的规律.This paper explores the origins of French loan words in English, and analyzes the three climax periods when French words are borrowed by English. In accordance with the ＂En- glishization＂ degree of French loan words, French loan words can be divided into three classes： full Englishization, semi-En- glishization and non-Englishization. French loan words not only enrich the English language, but also exert certain influence on the social culture of Britain.
