The results showed that more than half of the students changed their first theme and most students are (comparatively) satisfied with their new theme. Also, there was a (comparatively) clear awareness of the research question underlying their theme. The influencing factors for theme selection included "research rules", "society and others", "oneself", "research and study environment", and "research practice".
