Abstract: Speaking as the inverse process to abrasion acquisition, there was more than thirty years of history research in foreign countries. In recent years international abrasion speak concern more and more, but more of the eve of the research is not deep to speak abrasion of the lexical level, in the empirical research rarely deposit dependents in English major students speak abrasion situation. The English professional Mr. French abrasion scene, yet few studies browsing. In view of this, this research take cross-sectional research methods, through process of French vocabulary test and background investigation questionnaires and other methods to discuss in English major students abrasion of the French as a second foreign language of functional categories to remind Mr. English professional French as a second foreign language words abrasion trend and characteristics of gentle sequence. 90 English majors from petroleum university Mr. China joined the seminar. Accordingly, the study of French words in reality teaching put forward coherent suggestions. This paper first points out the lack of itself and the future research suggestions. 目录: Abstract 8 摘要 9-10 List of Abbreviations 10-11 List of Tables 11-12 List of Figures 12-13 Chapter One Introduction 13-17 1.1 Backgrounds of the Study 13-14 1.2 Statement of the Problem 14 1.3 Purpose and Method of the Study 14-15 1.4 Significance of the Study 15 1.5 Organization of the Thesis 15-17 Chapter Two Literature Review 17-38 2.1 Introduction 17 2.2 Definition of Language Attrition 17-19 2.3 Taxonomies of Language Attrition 19-20 2.4 Variables Leading to Language Attrition 20-23 2.5 Regression Hypothesis on Language Attrition 23-25 2.5.1 Two Viewpoints of Regression Hypothesis 23-24 2.5.2 Studies Supporting Regression Hypothesis 24 2.5.3 Studies Refuting Regression Hypothesis 24-25 2.6 Studies on Language Attrition 25-29 2.6.1 Historical Development of Language Attrition Studies 25-26 2.6.2 Empirical Studies on Language Attrition 26-27 2.6.3 Chinese Studies on Language Attrition 27-29 2.7 Studies on Lexical Attrition 29-35 2.7.1 Overseas Studies on Lexical Attrition 29-34 2.7.1.1 Rate of Lexical Attrition 30 2.7.1.2 Comparison of Lexical Attrition 30-32 2.7.1.3 Factors Affecting Lexical Attrition 32-34 2.7.2 Chinese Studies on Lexical Attrition 34-35 2.8 Research Gaps and Research Questions 35-36 2.9 Chapter Summary 36-38 Chapter Three Methodology 38-47 3.1 Introduction 38 3.2 Participants 38 3.3 Sources of Data 38-40 3.3.1 Background Questionnaire 39 3.3.2 Lexical Test 39-40 3.4 Constructing and Validating the Test 40-45 3.4.1 Constructing the Test 40-44 3.4.2 Validating the Test 44-45 3.5 A Pilot Study 45 3.6 Data Collection 45-46 3.7 Data Analysis 46 3.8 Chapter Summary 46-47 Chapter Four Results and Discussion 47-61 4.1 Introduction 47 4.2 General Tendency of Attrition 47-49 4.3 Attrition Features Regarding Part of Speech 49-52 4.4 Attrition Features Regarding Types of Syllable 52-55 4.5 Attrition Features Regarding Relevance to English 55-57 4.6 Order of Attrition:Its Relationship to Regression Hypothesis 57-60 4.7 Chapter Summary 60-61 Chapter Five Conclusion 61-66 5.1 Summary of the Study 61-62 5.2 Implications of the Study 62-63 5.3 Limitations of the Study 63-64 5.4 Suggestions for Further Studies 64-65 5.5 Concluding Remarks 65-66 References 66-79 Appendix Ⅰ 79-83 Appendix Ⅱ 83-86 Appendix Ⅲ 86-87 Appendix Ⅳ 87-88 Acknowledgements 88-89 List of Publications 89-90 学位论文评阅及答辩情况表 90 |
