【摘要】：
本人于2017年11月应邀前往泰国曼谷参加泰国庄甲盛皇家大学举办的短期学习班。活动期间,本人向庄甲盛大学的老师和学生了解了泰国大学英语教育的相关情况,并收集相关文献资料,为论文撰写提供了非常重要的价值。
自从一名美国传教士开始在泰国教授英语开始,英语在泰国的学校作为一门独立的外语学科已有一百多年的历史。如今英语被视为一种媒介语言广泛运用于交际中,特别是与一些西方国家的交流。作为一个发展中国家,泰国政府十分重视英语,并且用来吸取西方的新知识、新技术以发展本国的各个方面,与全球化进程步调保持一致。为了鼓励国民加强英语学习,泰国诗琳通公主在网上开设了英语博客。为了全面普及英语教育,泰国教育部于1996年实行课程改革,将英语引进小学一年级的课程。教师质量是作用教学效果的一个重要因素,因此教育部宣布推出一项新的师资培训计划,转用沟通式教学法教授英语。泰国全国教育委员办公室也发起“教师培训教师”计划,以提高教师教学水平。
关于泰国英语教育发展的探讨,目前我国还缺乏相关探讨,探讨有待深入。
论文分为六个部分:
第一章为引文,介绍了本文探讨的目的、意义以及探讨新意。
第二章是文献综述。由于中国大陆目前还没有这方面的探讨,所以主要介绍了新世纪以来国外探讨泰国英文教育的近况和水平。
第三章是对泰国英语教育的历史回顾。从泰国开始与西方接触,到英语这门语言传入泰国,历代国王对这一现象的态度及其政策,再到泰国正式教育兴起后英语这门学科在教育发展过程中经历的变革。
第四章着重略论了泰国英语教育的近况。因英语在社会发展与国民生活中扮演的角色越来越重要,英语教育呈现出多种办学形式,且国际间的交流合作也日益增多。此外,对目前在泰国具有一定作用力的英语机构以及一些用得普遍的英语资料也作了简要介绍。
第五章主要略论了泰国英语教育发展中存在的一些问题以及针对这些问题所提出的解决措施。教师资源紧缺、教学技能及措施不恰当、学生的不自信心理、考试机制的不健全,英语教育难以满足社会需要等问题阻碍着英语教育的发展。教育部也针对这些存在的弊端做出许多举措来应对。
第六章为结论部分。对整篇论文作一个总结,并提出此论文存在的不足之处以及未来进行相关探讨的方向
