After making a detailed inspection of Japanese idioms including the words ＂chest＂ and ＂ab- domen＂ from the perspective of Embodied Philosophy, this article points out that man＇ s use of concrete body words can express abstract meaning such as spiritual thought or emotions by means of interaction with the objective world through his body and brain.
