The results show that in port areas,the demands for foreign languages are diverse with geographical features. The demands for key foreign languages are English,Vietnamese,Thai,Burmese and Japanese in order; and the demands for foreign language professional competence include language skill,language knowledge,relevant professional knowledge,and the knowledge of Chinese,foreign and Southeastern Asian cultures.
