摘要
随着经济与科技的快速发展，世界逐渐变成了一个“地球村”。 各国之间的交流愈来愈频繁，跨文化交流的机会也越来越多。 因为英语是一门世界性的语言，所以对中国人来说，要与世界交流，掌握好英语至关重要。 当然，在两种不同的文化碰撞时，总会有一些困难与不解。在英语学习中，光了解字面意思是远远不够的。为了提升与以英语为母语的人交流的能力，深刻了解英语表达的内涵十分重要。
禁忌语与委婉语是英语语言的重要部分，它们能够从一定程度上反应出英语国家的社会文化特征。了解了禁忌语才能知道在当地人面前什么话不能说才能不至冒犯。而委婉语可以帮助英语学习者正确得理解英语表达的内涵，并且让英语学习者能更得体地表达自己。此外，通过英语禁忌语和委婉语，还能瞥见英语文化的冰山一角。所以，英语论文，对英语学习者而言， 学习英语禁忌语和委婉语是有很大帮助的。
本探讨首先介绍了英语禁忌语、委婉语的定义, 从定义和禁忌语和委婉语产生的原因出发，略论了英语禁忌语与委婉语，分别为对于宗教信仰的、对于社会风俗的还有对于社交方面的英语禁忌语和委婉语。最后，还介绍了禁忌语与委婉语之间的联系：因果联系、共存联系与共同发展的联系。本文的重点在于根据禁忌语和委婉语的定义以及产生的缘由，以大量的实例来略论英语禁忌语和委婉语。以期为英语学习者提供一个对于英语禁忌语与委婉语的学习参考。

Abstract
With the progress of economy and communications technology, the world becomes a global village. The connection among different countries becomes frequent, and there will be many opportunities for inter-culture communication. As English is the world language, acquainting with English is essential for Chinese people to communicate with the world. Of course, when two different cultures meet, there may be some difficulties or misunderstandings. In English learning, knowing the language literally is far from enough, in order to improve the ability of communicating with the English speakers, grasping the connotation of the English expression is very significant.
Taboo expressions and euphemisms are important parts of English language. What’s more, they can reflect the culture or the history of some English speaking countries to some degree. Taboo expressions is necessary to learn for avoiding offending others when talking to native speakers. Grasping Euphemisms helps the English learners to get a better understanding of English and express themselves more appropriately. Besides, through taboo expressions and euphemisms, some corner of English culture can be discovered. Thus, learning taboo expressions and euphemisms will do much favor for the learning of English.
This paper will firstly introduce the definitions of taboo expressions and euphemisms. Based on the definitions and the causes of taboos and euphemisms, the taboo expressions and euphemisms are classified as taboo expressions and euphemisms about religion, custom and social communication. At last, this paper states the relation of taboo expressions and euphemism---causation, coexistence, and common development relations. The main course of this paper focuses on the analysis of the taboo expressions and euphemisms, basing on the definitions, causes of their appearance and abundant practical examples.
