摘要
颜色词,隐喻以及文化的探讨一直是学术界里几个较为重要的课题。然而在本文中,这三个相对独立的课题紧密关系了起来。本文研讨的主题是中英文中红色隐喻意义的差异以及其所反映的文化内涵。为了使本文的探讨具有更高的可信性以及参考性,文章选择了中英文中两个知名的语料库作为数据来源。通过定量略论与定性略论相结合的措施,略论对比了两种语言中红色隐喻意义的相同与不同,并揭示了文化因素在此过程中的重要影响。
基于收集到的数据资料,本文通过对比探讨发现,在人际交往过程中,红色在中英文中具有较多的相似隐喻意义,尤其是在表达爱意时,这种隐喻意义是完全相同的。然而,在政治领域,经济领域以及揭示个人目前状况时,红色在两种文化中只有较少的相同意义,更多表现出的是异同性。著名语言学家希尔勒(1979)认为,文化是造成对颜色审视异同的重要原因。在中英文中,“红”色隐喻上的共性是由两个民族共同文化经验引起的,英语论文网站,而其异同性主要来源于两者不同的物质文化,体制文化,以及心理文化。
红色是中国文化中最为重要的一种色彩,也是整个色彩体系中最为常见的色彩之一。通过中英文中红色隐喻的对比及文化重要影响的揭示,本文关于日益频繁的跨文化交流和跨文化意识的培养有着较为重要的影响。

Abstract
Color, metaphor, and culture are all important researching topics in the academic field. In this thesis, these three subjects are discussed together. This thesis aims to discuss the similarities and dissimilarities of red metaphors between English and Chinese, and reveal the cultural connotation they have reflected. In order to make this thesis more believable, data are collected from famous English and Chinese corpus. With the combination of qualitative and quantitative analysis, this thesis has made a comparative study on the red metaphors in the two languages, and revealed the importance of culture.
Based on the data and comparative study, it is found that in the interpersonal communication domain, red metaphors have comparatively more similarities. However, there are limited similarities when the red metaphors are applied in the politics, economics, status and situation domain. The famous linguist Searle believes that culture is the major factor that may influence the perceptions to color. In other words, the similarities of red metaphors in the two languages are caused by the similar cultural experiences while the differences are the results of different material, institutional, and mental culture.
Red is the most important color in Chinese culture, and also one of the basic colors among the color system. Based on the comparison of red metaphor and the revealing of the important role of culture, this thesis is useful for the increasing cross-culture communication and the cultivation of cultural awareness.
