1 Introduction
“The West lives in a world separated into two terms: subject and object, self and non-self, yes and no, good and evil, right and wrong, true and false. It is therefore more logical or scientific, where yes cannot be no and no cannot be yes”. But as the saying goes, there is something we cannot define absolutely. Until 1965, L. A. Zadeh published his article on fuzzy sets in the journal Information and Control, proposing the technical term “fuzziness”. From then on, a great number of systematic studies have been done on vague language. For example, Macaulay(1981) mainly studies the application of vagueness in linguistics; Prince, Frader and Bosk (1986) divide vagueness from the perspective of pragmatics. It involves many disciplines, such as psychology, history, mathematics, linguistics, sociology and other disciplines. Therefore, the vague language derives a new linguistic discipline—fuzzy linguistics.
