Humor is an old topic to investigate which embodies both linguistic and scientific meanings. Most researches are based on the study of humor from the perspective of the cooperative or the relevance theory, or on the analysis from the cultural perspective, with fruitful achievements at the end. Yet it is found that there is limited research on the analysis of the contextual perspective from the systemic functional linguistics. In view of the above facts, this paper endeavors to analyze the contextual features and functions of lingual humor in situational comedy.
English language is rich in humor. The word “humor” originates from French. It is a piece of art as well as a way of life. It can bring a lot of pleasure as well as inspiration. Basically, there are two kinds of humor: one is “Lingual-humor”, the other is “Non-lingual humor”. “Lingual-humor” is a kind of humor generated through the use of language, whereas “Non-lingual humor” is generated without the tool of language. It is quite interesting and practical to make analysis on the generation of humor, especially the “Lingual-humor” which is used by people quite often. ,英语论文网站 |
