An Analysis of Pragmatic Ambivalence in Interpersonal Communication from the Perspective of Adaptation Theory
Abstract
Pragmatic ambivalence penetrates every corner of interpersonal communications and it has been one of the important communication strategies between people and people. Pragmatic ambivalence helps communicators express their communicative intentions more effectively. Through the analysis of communicative language, this paper explores the interpersonal rules, inspires college students to use vague language more effectively, enriches the forms to express language so that verbal communication can be carried out more smoothly, and promotes the establishment of harmonious interpersonal relationships.
