Abstract
Feminism has a great influence on a global scale. Under different cultures and traditions, feminism in different places has its own uniqueness. Western feminism has experienced more than two centuries, while feminism in China has only lasted for more than half a century. Therefore, feminism in Western countries is quite different from that in China in terms of social background, theory, practice and social impacts. However, they still have some similar aspects such as the content of feminism research and the goal of the feminism. With the help of feminism work The Joy Luck Club, the thesis will analyze the differences and similarities of Chinese feminism and Western feminism. In this way, we can learn from Western feminism and weigh the pros and cons so as to learn the successful experience, thus we can provide advices for the development of feminism in China combined with China's local culture.
