1.1 Research background

With the development of technology and the progress of times, English teaching has  changed  dramatically  in  the  teacher-student  relationship,  learning  content  and methods,  teaching  methods  and  means.  The  guidance  of  New  Curriculum  Reform promotes the vigorous development of China’s basic Education. It advocates students’ active  participation,  their  willingness  to  explore  and  diligence  in  practicing,  it  also emphasizes  the  prominent  dominant  position  of  students  and  respects  for  individual differences,  so  that  students  can  achieve  the  goal  of  learning,  feel  success  under  the guidance  of  teachers  through  perception,  experience,  practice,  participation  and cooperation and so on. 1.2 Research purpose
The  form  of  the  Second  Classroom  activity  and  whether  it  can  be  effectively carried  out  will  have  a  direct  impact  on  the  students’  interest  in  participating  in  the Second  Classroom,  which  will  affect  the  students’  interests  in  learning  English  and determine  the  implementation  effect  of  the  Second  Classroom.  This  paper  intends  to research and study the content and the form of the Second Classroom carried out and the  students’  interests  in  participating  in  the  Second  Classroom  and  students’ evaluation of it so that we can understand the current status of the Second Classroom in Junior Middle School and find out problems existing in the activity contents and the ways  of  activities  carried  out  in  the  Second  Classroom,  and  put  forward  several feasible proposals.
